Paralles between Afghanistan's government and The Kite Runner
There are many similarities between Afghanistans past and The Kite Runner. In the novel they refer to the attack on the presidential palace in 1979. The novel is even as discriptive as to tell you about when Zahir Shah visted Italy, and it even tells you about tha assasination of prince Daud. As discriptive as this book may be it still leaves out some of Afghanistan's histroy. The book dose not mention some of the smaller rebelions that took place and it also leavs out some of the USSR's attacks.
Critical Thinking Questions:
1.) What allowed Prince Daud to proclaim himself the president of the republic?.
2.) Who took over after Prince Daud whas hanged? Who's hands did the power still remain in?
3.) In chapter five Amir heard gunshots and explosions in the street, Baba told him the gunshots were from duck hunters to reinsure him that he was safe. What were the gunshots and explosions actually from?
