Amir would only want to play with Hassan when no one else was around, but Hassan always thought of Amir as a true friend. Also, while Hassan was always sticking up for Amir, Amir would never do the same for Hassan. Amir doesnt want to have Hassan as a "real friend". Even thought Amir doesnt show or act like Hassan is his friend, he keeps testing his loyalty because I think he secretly likes when Hassan sticks up for him, and admits to being his friend, and there for him when he does want to play. After the kite flying contest, Amir doesnt want to talk to Hassan because he witnessed him getting raped and knew it was wrong, and knew he should of stood up for him and stopped it, like Hassan would have done for him but he didnt. He was a coward and left it alone so Hassan could get the kite for him. He couldnt stand to look at Hassan because he felt bad and didnt know what to say. In the end, he pushes Hassan away.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"18552815","dateCreated":"1262632494","smartDate":"Jan 4, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"Georgie.porgie.pudinin.pie","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/Georgie.porgie.pudinin.pie","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1256180241\/Georgie.porgie.pudinin.pie-lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/periodckiterunner.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/18552815"},"dateDigested":1532288657,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"i HATE tourists... thats mainly why i live in delaware","description":"What farid said to amir was meant to show amir how well he's had it his whole life. He hasn't quite lived the life of a typical aphghanistani child. He's trying to say that because of the lifestyles he was accustomed as a child, he isn't worthy of being a true member of society. Which in my opinion is utterly false. What gives people thier worth within society depends not on their wealth, or their status, but upon their involvement. Their connections with others within thier society, and what they do to improve thier own society is what truly determines who outranks who. It also heavilly depends on compassion; how much pride and love their hold dear to themselves for their country. And this is true for all societies. When Amir lived in Kabul he always had almost anything he wanted. His family also have American car and wear American like clothing, so they never really a citizen in Afghanistan he was the tourist there. I think what Farid implied is right; Amir never lived the way the poor life style before and never really had to do any work. I think Amir is more American than he is Afghanistan, so he is like the tourist in a foreign country in Afghanistan. To be a person that holds a place in their society a person must learn to love their country, even when his county is bad he must find a way to refine their country. Amir\u2019s father, Baba is a real Afghanistan person because he always wanted to make Kabul better by creating orphanage. Baba wanted to go back to Afghanistan but he never had the chance to. A person worth is determine by their wealth and their rank in the society. As you mention before Amir's family have live in a American life sytle because of their wealth. The wealthy class in every country only contain maybe about one percent in the population, but to make the country whole is the other ninety-nine percent. I believe Farid's implication is right because Amir is born in the upper society which live in a different world from the lower society. Most population of Afghanstan is in proverty and deal the harshness of the world lies ahead of them unlike the wealthy class. Amir never been into a situation and only watch the Afghanstan from the upper view which only contain the glorious part of Afghanstan. This prove the life of a human is worthless only their wealth and static can prove their existance to this world. This happen everywhere and in every society in this unequal world. For instance, if a beggar died no one in this world will mourn for him instead everyone in the country will mourn for the death of the president. This is how unequal this world is and the only difference between socities is the difficulties of moving up the classes.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"18511625","body":"I believe Farid comment is right, but I don\u2019t think that if someone is born in the higher society that they are tourist also.
